I read an article the other day which asked the question “How Do You Stay So Cheerful.”  I hope and pray it will be a blessing to you as it was to me.

 How Do You Stay So Cheerful

“How do you stay so cheerful?” 

You may never have asked that question directly, because the circumstances haven’t invited you to be so bold and personal.  Many times, though, it has come to your mind as you have talked with someone who seemed genuinely to enjoy life, and to help others to enjoy life, in the face of serious problems with health, finances, or family.

           Yet in the face of trial your friend has smiled, and not with a practices expression put on like a garment for public display.  This person really enjoys life, with an eagerness that reaches out to grasp each new day as it becomes available.  How does he do it? 

Obviously, he or she does not do it alone.  He has help – help from God and from God’s people.  He has discovered that contentment, real contentment is any and all circumstances, is an important part of what he can achieve through Christ who enables him (Philippians 4:13).

            The apostle Paul was that kind of person.  His Christian friends at Philippi were wonderful people who helped him to be that way.  His letter to them was designed, in turn, to help them toward the same accomplishment in Christ.
